Road map to Higher States of Spiritual Experience
The ancient spiritual sciences like Yoga, Tibetan Buddhism and Taoism have created detailed system of spiritual understanding. Included in some of these rare teachings are a map of human energetic manifestation, development and evolution. From the Pure Consciousness of the Self, numerous manifestations / dimensions of energy and experience are created. They begin with the most subtle energy dimensions, called the causal dimension or dharmakaya -- dimension of essence. Creation then grows into the dimensions of individual form and light beings, called the astral dimension or sambhogakaya -- the dimension of the richness of qualities. Finally creation manifests as the dimension of solid forms, time and space. This is called the physical dimensions, material dimensions, lower worlds, or nirmanakaya -- the dimension of manifestation.
Learn more about the parts of your self and the dimensions of your energy system. All 4 of these dimensions exist as your human experience. Every person is experiencing these different dimensions in varying degrees depending on their level of awareness and spiritual development. Is Spiritual Enlightenment sudden or gradual?
As we progress spiritually, we often wonder if our spiritual enlightenment will happen in one sudden instant of realization or if we will continue to progress gradually, gaining more knowledge along our life. Different teachers talk of many different experiences to define what spiritual enlightenment is. Some teachers say it is a sudden, once and done awakening. Yet others say the awakening comes slowly over time. Some teachers say enlightenment is freedom from the mind, yet others say it is living in awareness. Some teach that emotional health is enlightenment, others say philosophical knowledge is enlightenment. And some people say that out of body experience in different dimensions is spiritual enlightenment. So what is it? Who is right and who is wrong? And how can we get the enlightenment that we desire?
